The “Share Of Ear” survey from Edison Research explores total audio consumption patterns per day in the U.S. — Radio pulls the most weight with 52%, while internet services are slightly under 12%. Owned music (CD’s, mp3’s, etc.) come in at 20%.

Don’t expect radio to diminish anytime soon, but tracking how quickly Internet Services eclipse Owned Music will undoubtedly be of interest to creators and investors of music streaming services.
