Twitter is deleting their music app from the iTunes store, choosing to take a fresh new strategy concerning music. A multi-pronged approach appears to be on the horizon according to the Wall Street Journal – incorporating music “conversation and content” along with possibly “bite-sized music videos” to the platform.
It was also reported that Twitter met with Beats Music proposing a partnership. Following the connections here, we might glean some insight on a Twitter / Beats Music agreement. Bob Moczydlowsky was recently appointed Head of Music at Twitter. CEO of Beats Music, Ian Rogers, worked with Moczydlowsky 5 years at Topspin (which Beats purchased) and before that, they were at Yahoo during the same period. This relationship just might help both companies stretch toward their respective agendas more deliberately.
